There are evenings when food, wine, music and place come together in just the right way. This weekend at Sagecliffe Estate was one of those occasions.
Our Four-Course Wine-Paired Dinner: A Culinary Journey Through Wine & Music was a wonderful success, bringing guests together for an evening that celebrated the flavors of the season, the craft of winemaking and the extraordinary landscape we are fortunate to call home.
Against the dramatic backdrop of the Columbia River Gorge, guests and locals settled in for four thoughtfully prepared courses from Executive Chef Brooke and her talented culinary team. Each course showcased their creativity and attention to detail, with beautiful flavours designed to complement the wines poured throughout the evening.
The result was more than a dinner. It was an experience — one that unfolded course by course and glass by glass, accompanied by live music, conversation and the unmistakable sense of place that makes Sagecliffe Estate so special.
From Vineyard to Your Glass
At the heart of the evening were the wines of Sagecliffe Cellars. Our estate wines are produced from hand-harvested grapes grown locally, allowing us to share an even deeper connection between the land surrounding us and the wine in each guest’s glass.
That journey has already given us plenty to celebrate
Our first estate vintage, a 2020 Cabernet Sauvignon, earned Double Gold awards in both Washington and California wine competitions.
Guiding our winemaking is Pete Beaumont of Beaumont Cellars, whose knowledge and craftsmanship help transform exceptional Washington grown fruit into wines that express both varietal character and a distinctive sense of place.
A Celebration of Washington Wine
Wine dinners give us an opportunity to slow down and experience wine differently. Rather than simply enjoying a glass alongside a meal, each pairing becomes part of the story. A sip of wine can reveal something unexpected in a dish, while the next course can bring an entirely different side of the wine to life.
Among the wines we love sharing are our expressive rosés, including Cabernet Sauvignon Rosé, Sangiovese Rosé and Sagecliffe Cellars Syrah Rosé.
Each bottle begins with carefully selected, single-sourced grape varieties, grown in Washington’s renowned Wahluke Slope AVA. From vineyard to cellar, our approach is rooted in celebrating the grape, the land and the remarkable wine-growing regions of Central Washington.
Ancient Landscapes, Living Wines
The story of this landscape began long before vines were planted here. Cataclysmic forces shaped the region over thousands of years. Ancient volcanic activity and the immense Missoula Floods carved their way through the Pacific Northwest, helping form the cliffs, valleys and distinctive soils that define this part of Washington today.
Standing among the vines, looking across the cliffs and Columbia River, you begin to understand why we believe wine should be experienced rather than simply tasted. Every bottle provides another opportunity to explore the land, learn its story and discover Central Washington through the glass.
More Than a Wine Dinner
What made this weekend’s dinner particularly special was the people around the table.
We love seeing guests become part of life at Sagecliffe — asking questions, discovering new wines, sharing stories and experiencing firsthand the connection between vineyard, cellar, kitchen and landscape.
