Cinco de Mayo Celebrations at Sagecliffe Resort
May is just around the corner, and that means one thing only – Cinco de Mayo. We’re planning a full weekend of events including a pool party, live music, cocktails and special foods.
Cinco de Mayo
Cinco de Mayo is a yearly celebration held on May 5, which commemorates the anniversary of Mexico’s victory over the Second French Empire at the Battle of Puebla in 1862.
Celebrated in parts of Mexico and the United States, Cinco de Mayo literally means “May 5” in Spanish, which is when this celebration of Mexican heritage falls each year. After its inception, the celebration became a festival for Mexicans and Mexican Americans that included historical re-enactments of the Battle of Puebla, parades, mariachi music, colorful costumes and fireworks.
Cinco de Mayo Line-up
On Thursday 4th of May, our outdoor pool will be opening for the summer, and we’ll be holding one of our infamous Ladies Days – the first one of the season. Ladies Days are $35 per person ($15 for Resort guests) and include spa specials, swimming or relaxing at the pool as well as wine, and flatbread tasting. If that sounds like your kind of Thursday, be sure to join us.
On Friday 5th of May, we’ll have live music from Aaron Crawford in our outdoor tent. To celebrate Cinco de Mayo Day we will have a Mexican buffet and beer special.
Saturday will be our Summer Kickoff Party with 215 Productions at the poolside. There will also be another special menu and limited-edition drinks. For resort guests only.
