This Earth Day, we’re investing in renewable energy π
The official theme for Earth Day 2022 is ‘Invest In Our Planet‘, inciting businesses around the world to act, innovate, and implement ways to protect our Earth.
This year, we invested in 24 Mission Solar 385-Watt solar panels to make the most of the 300 days of sunshine we get every year here in Washington State.

Our 9.2 kW system uses US-made solar panels and Enphase microinverter technology and will produce an estimated 12,8500 kWh annually. The CO2 emissions reduced with this system are estimated to be about 9.8 tons and 10,500 fewer driving miles per year. The set-up also features battery storage, so we can be reliant on sunshine power even when it’s cloudy.
The company we worked with to install the solar panels was a local Seattle-based business called Sphere Solar Energy. Sphere Solar Energy also works with grant-funded projects and hosts educational workshops for youth and young adults wanting to learn more about the renewable energy industry. You can find out more about them here.
Installing these solar panels is just one of the ways Sagecliffe Resort and Spa is working to improve sustainability on-site. We’re also eliminating single-use plastic wherever we can, replacing on-site gas vehicles with electric, and planting a tree for every booking and music membership.
