Sagecliffe Resort & Spa Awarded $2.5M Solar Grant for Sustainability and Beekeeping Initiative

Posted 19 September 2024

The grant will support the installation of a 1 MW dual-use solar project at our vineyard to generate clean energy. The solar panels will not only power our operations but also provide shade and wind protection for our new commercial beehives. This approach, known as agrivoltaics, allows us to support pollinators, wildlife, and the environment while producing green energy.

At Sagecliffe, sustainability isn’t just a goal — it’s embedded in everything we do. From our energy-efficient buildings and eco-friendly spa products to our commitment to sourcing local and organic ingredients for our restaurant, we are dedicated to reducing our environmental footprint.

We are proud to announce Sagecliffe Residences will incorporate solar into Olson Kundig’s design for our new homes making them fully energy independent.

Our sustainability initiatives reflect our passion for preserving the natural beauty that surrounds us while we create unforgettable experiences for our guests and homeowners.

Sustainability at Sagecliffe

By combining renewable energy with sustainable beekeeping, this project exemplifies our long-term vision for sustainability. We are honored to be part of Washington’s clean energy future and excited to continue building Sagecliffe as a place that offers people the chance to reconnect with nature while supporting it.
